Choosing Wisely Canada is a campaign to help clinicians and patients engage in conversations about unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures to make smart and effective choices to ensure high quality care. To deepen our efforts to ensure that patients and the public voices are heard in all aspects of the campaign, we are looking for patient advisors to participate in our Choosing Wisely Manitoba (CWMB) Patient Advisory Committee.

The Advisory Committee is responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the CWMB executive teams on the implementation and promotion of Choosing Wisely in Manitoba as well as identifying opportunities to align work and leverage resources. This includes participating in the development of a strategic plan for the next five years as well as contributing to our public reporting and patient engagement strategies. Meetings are held two to three times per year.

In addition to participating in the Advisory Committee, patient advisors will be called upon to provide ad hoc advice and direction into specific campaigns and projects occurring in Manitoba. This will include participating in two to three in-person meetings per year and an approximate three hour per month time commitment.

If you are interested in working with Choosing Wisely Manitoba please contact Sarah Kirby at (204) 594-5376 or skirby@wrha.mb.ca.
